we recently found the illustrations of inslee & are totally smitten. according to her own words, she has been creating art since she was in diapers. available in her shop are prints from her sketch book, calendars & note cards. she also does commissioned pieces ~ what a fabulous gift for a special friend or relative. great bridal gift, too!

angel trees & wreaths ~ divatastic!

I have had my angel wreath for 8 years now & it looks as fantastic today as it did the day I purchased it. mine is red & I put it on my front door on thanksgiving & leave it through valentine’s day. if I was purchasing today, I would pick a non-traditional color to give it more longevity ~ it is truly that pretty!

currently #1 on my wish list is the 7′ white angel tree ~

but at only $80-, a 36″ feather tree is a nice option for a bedroom ~

I also love this ball ~ perfect hanging in an entryway paired with mistletoe strung on fishing line!

sequin letters

we are totally in love with these handmade sequined letters from etsy seller, twisted twig.

accessories like these are jewelry for a room. the 4 wooden letters have been painted & then meticulously covered with over 2,000 hand-aligned sequins ~ a process taking over eight hours!

if you want either of these sets or any single letter before christmas, they must be ordered by 12/4.

meet local author & illustrator, elisabeth davis

kara & I have both owned small local businesses prior to running in stilettos, so in honor of small business saturday, we want to feature children’s book author & illustrator, elisabeth davis who lives in davidson, nc. davis, a former english professor, has written 2 books ~

all of the proceeds from elisabeth’s books are donated to one of three animal rescue charities: cornelius animal shelter (cornelius, nc), harvest hills animal shelter (fryeburg, me) & tierra madre horse sanctuary (cave creek, az). what a great gift! purchase at main street books in davidson or on elisabeth’s etsy shop or her site.
