10 things

We accomplish a lot in any given week, but here are 10 things that stood out for us that we completed for our clients this week:

~ got a family of 4 ready for their Disney cruise

~ currently house & dog sitting their 2 dogs. walks, meals, down-time in their crates & blocks of play time & fresh air are being done daily

~ we ran errands & did some light housekeeping for our 3 elder clients

~ we have a client in the Peninsula whom we work with in numerous capacities, but top-of-list always remains planning the menus, doing the grocery shopping & making 5-6 family dinners weekly. whether it is served immediately or ready in the fridge to be heated up after volleyball practice & t-ball, there is always fresh, non-processed food available

~ we sorted through all the clothing of a rapidly growing 4 year old boy, laundered & reorganized his newly purchased spring clothes & ran the donated items to the Goodwill drop-off in Cornelius

~ for a client who is transforming her diet, we transferred her ever-growing assortment of gluten-free flours (currently at 12) into the OXO containers we purchased, labeled everything with our label-maker & put them away alphabetically in her pantry for easy access

~ we started planning a kid’s party to be given in the month of May

~ we cleaned out & reorganized a lakefront client’s garage ~ lots of tools, sporting equipment & water toys & boxes that had not been opened from their move over 2 years ago were all organized & properly labeled

2404

~ we organized a teen-age girl’s bathroom & toiletries. wow, did she have a stash of products & make-up! picked up the appropriate drawer organizers & scored the perfect caddy for her shower at Homegoods in Huntersville

~ we did the research on the best product(s) to use to spray-paint some wicker chairs & a table that we are going to transform next week.

Well, that’s just 10 of the things we accomplished for our clients last week. What can we accomplish for you?

For the months of April & May we are offering all new & existing clients a Saturday special for garage clean-out. Hire a 1 person team for 6 hours of organizing & cleaning for $150-. If the job warrants it, we can offer a 2 person team for $290-. This offer is open until existing openings are booked out. We will take all items to be donated to Goodwill when the project is completed for you at no additional charge.

Call Kara at 704.589.1389 or email us at admin@runninginstilettoslkn.com with any questions or to book your Saturday.

We mysteriously lost our site navigation buttons this week & our web assistant, Lyndsay, is currently digging in to figure things out. The major links to our service pages are at the end of this post.

5 low cost ways to improve your curb appeal

everyone talks about curb appeal ~ but, exactly what is it? you know it when you see it & you also know if when it is totally lacking. here are some tangible & low cost ways to dress up the curb appeal of your residence.

a good place to start is with your front door. a punch of unexpected color is a low-cost way to give your house personality & set it apart from your neighbors. if you live in a condo, this is probably not an option, but you can still find ways to give your entry some panache. make sure it is clean, polish off the hardware & add some flowers, topiaries or swag or wreath that reflects your personal style ~

create a garden in a day. container gardens work on any type property as do hanging baskets of lush flowers or ferns. softening your exterior with a beautiful vine ~ either annual or a perennial like a carolina jasmine is small investment with a big payback ~

add window boxes ~ we are currently working on a post on window box resources to share with you ~ there are boxes that work with almost any style of house. by mixing plants & flowers, you can create a lush & charming addition to the facade of your home ~

make sure your home is clean, clean, clean & properly painted & maintained. also consider adding extra molding around windows & doors ~ it can be done in a weekend & will update it & add value ~

don’t forget about your gutter & drainspouts. make sure they are not clogged with leaves or looking shabby with peeling paint. vinyl systems are easy to install & if you can afford them, copper systems will add class & value to your home ~

and finally, consider adding an arbor or other focal point in the your garden. a value added expense that will delight you as you plant round it ~

planting season for shrubs & perennials is here & annual season is around the corner. it’s is an excellent time of the year to plan some small changes that will give back large rewards in the curb appeal of your property.
